Partnership will co-promote unique microbe collections

Scottish marine biotechnology specialist Aquapharm has announced it has signed an agreement with the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) in which both organisations will co-promote each other’s microbe collections.

“This collaboration recognises Aquapharm’s position as a leader in the sustainable commercial exploitation of marine resources, and we are excited by the opportunities it will bring,” commented Jon Williams, business development director, Aquapharm.

The company specialises in the discovery, isolation and development of functional active ingredients sustainably harvested from marine micro-organisations. It has assembled a collection of over 8,750 viable strains of bacteria, fungi and yeasts from a wide variety of marine habitats.
