Swedish company presents its method for human-specific allergenicity

Swedish company Biovator has presented details of its new animal-free testing method for human-specific allergenicity at the 2010ICCA-LRI & JRC Workshop (International Council of Chemical Associations Long-Range Research Initiative). “We are very pleased that our development of cutting edge technologies for in-vitro alternatives is moving ahead,” said Biovator’s ceo Stan Mikulowski. “Our commercial model is ready and our goal is to deliver validated products to key industries within six to 12 months.”

Biovator is hoping that the model will help it take advantage of the marketing opportunities predicted to open up when the EU bans animal testing for cosmetics manufacturers in 2013.

The ICCA-LRI & JRC Workshop took place in Stresa, Italy from the 16-17 June.
