Company plans to invest $12m in Brazil venture

Bio-based life science company Fiberstar has announced it has negotiated a spin off of its R&D business unit and IP portfolio. The two businesses have now formed Fiberstar Bio-Ingredient Technologies, of which Fiberstar is the sole shareholder. It has also secured an exclusive worldwide license to produce and sell the natural products Citri-Fi and Imulsi-Fi, derived from a bi-product of orange juice processing.

The company has also announced it has formed a wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil. Fiberstar Ingredientes do Brasil. Fiberstar has invested £12m to build a manufacturing plant in Brazil and it is estimated the venture will triple the company’s production capacity for bio-based products.
