Hair accessories brand Goody has announced a new partnership with two-time Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez as the athlete steps into a brand ambassador role.
The brand, which has offered ‘ouchless’ styling solutions for over a century, has brought Hernandez on board to support both the existing collection and its latest addition: the new Goody Sport range.
Hernandez, who was part of Rio 2016’s gold-winning ‘Final Five’ and has since gone on to take home the Glitterball in season 23 of Dancing with the Stars, has often spoken out about her curly hair journey and was a fan of the products long before the partnership.
"We are proud to be the brand that our consumers trust for their hair, and to be able to give them products that will maintain the health of their hair and scalp as well,” said Goody CEO Doug Gillespie.
“We are constantly looking to partner with talent who are not afraid to take risks and show off their personality.”
Gillespie highlighted how “natural” the new partnership is, and added: “With a natural affinity for beauty and a showcase of her confidence, Laurie Hernandez embodies the essence of what Goody stands for: empowerment, confidence and authenticity.
For Hernandez, the partnership celebrates one of her favourite features – her curls.
My curly hair is a big part of who I am,” she added.
“I love trying new hair accessories and have so much fun styling it, which is why I am so excited to partner with Goody as their official Brand Ambassador.
“Being a gymnast and often appearing in front of cameras requires me to have focus and flawless delivery, and I need hair tools that I can trust in the toughest tests."
Hernandez also hopes to encourage others to embrace their natural hair texture via the ambassador position.
"I cannot wait to share my favorite looks and the products that I cannot live without to inspire other girls with curly hair to embrace their natural beauty."
