The British Beauty Council has added two beauty industry titans to its board of directors.
Sue Fox, former President of Estée Lauder UKI, and Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, have joined the council to support its “overarching goals for industry”.
British Beauty Council CEO Millie Kendall said the “combined and extensive” experience of Boyd and Fox will support the council’s “strategies and activity” throughout their tenures.
Kendall added: “As the council continues to grow, it is vital that we tap into the ever-evolving world of leading beauty professionals to ensure we develop our work in line with the true needs of the sector.
“I am delighted to welcome new members of the board of directors and Advisory Board who will undoubtedly be vital to our continued success in taking beauty to the next level.”
The appointments have been made alongside a slew of new additions to the British Beauty Council’s Advisory Board.
CurrentBody’s founder and CEO Laurence Newman is among the newly appointed committee, and is the first person in beauty tech to be invited to the council.
Tendai Moyo, co-founder and CEO of Ruka Hair; Margaret Dabbs, CEO and founder of Margaret Dabbs London; and Krishna Montgomery, founder of Monty PR, have also joined.
Other new members also include Rhea Cartwright, beauty brand consultant and columnist, Who What Wear; Harriet Westmoreland, celebrity nail artist; and Amir Afshar and Insiya Jafferjee, co-founders of Shellworks.
The board of directors are focused on offering specific guidance and support to the council.
The Advisory Board, meanwhile, offers strategic insights to the organisation in order to propel cross-industry campaigns, policy change and awareness.
The work of both entities is spread across four strategic pillars: Policy & Influence, Trade & Export, Investment, Innovation & Technology and Talent & Careers.
The British Beauty Council has more than 70 members on its Advisory Board.
This includes brand founder Isamaya Ffrench, a former Byredo Creative Director, make-up artist Lucy Bridge and nail technician Sylvie Macmillan.
Ambassadors such as model Kate Moss, Jones Road founder Bobbi Brown and hair stylist Sam McKnight also help to support the council’s work.
