Australian cosmetics brand Aesop has opened its sixth boutique in France, at 5 rue du Vieux-Colombier in Paris’s VI arrondissement. The 26sqm interior has been designed by Italian architectural practice Dimore Studio.
“The firm’s hallmark approach, evocative of far-off and distant times, counterpoised between softness and rigidity, light and dark, is well in keeping with the history and culture of this elegant, unhurried neighbourhood,” said Aesop.
Opulent materials such as bronze, marble and velvet have been used to create an ancient/contemporary atmosphere and echo the decorative tradition of the area’s older shops and private houses.
Aesop was founded in Melbourne in 1987 and now has 19 outlets in Europe. The firm recently opened its eighth boutique in London in Shepherd’s Bush.
