Albéa and L'Oréal Paris create aluminium tube alternative

Published: 7-Jul-2016

The O2 Wall Tube has a carbon footprint of below 80%

Albéa and L’Oréal Paris have been developing a non-aluminium tube that is able to prevent oxidation of its Casting Crème Gloss at-home hair colour.

The result is the O2 Wall Tube; it provides the same level of strength and protection as aluminium but has a more flexible touch and many decoration options. Moreover, the tube has a lower carbon footprint, below 80%.

The patented technology took six year for the two companies to develop. The tube won the Best Tube of the Year 2016 in the Laminate Category by the European Tube Manufacturer Assocation.

Philippe Thuvien, VP Packaging & Development at L’Oréal, explained the launch shows “the Albéa group’s ability to create innovative, complex solutions for its customers and roll them out worldwide together."
