Eckart Effect Pigments takes reins from Avery Dennison


Altana AG division Eckart Effect Pigments has signed an agreement to acquire the production of Metalure pigments from Avery Dennison. Eckart, which has distributed the PVD-type aluminium pigments globally for over 20 years, will now acquire the production located at Avery Dennison’s premises in Schererville, Indiana, including the required technology and approximately 40 employees.

Avery Dennison will continue its other operations at the Schererville site.

“With this purchase, we are underscoring our focus on high quality metallic pigments and our strength in innovation,” commented Christoph Schlünken, president, Eckart Effect Pigments. “The takeover of Metalure production from Avery Dennison assures our customers of the routinely high quality they are used to from Eckart.”

No details have been released regarding the purchase price and the transaction is subject to approval by Germany’s Federal Cartel Office.
