The 41-year-old actress and director inspires the French beauty brand’s latest scent for women, Mon Guerlain

Angelina Jolie has been announced as the inspiration behind Guerlain Perfumer’s latest women’s fragrance, Mon Guerlain.

Rather than using Jolie as a face of the launch, Thierry Wasser, Guerlain’s Master Perfumer, has used her as his muse to create a scent conveying the ‘notes of a woman’ and that embraces modern femininity.

Jacques Guerlain, the creator of fragrances such as Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue and Mitsouko, said: "We create perfumes for the women we admire."

The Mon Guerlain fragrance is due to launch in March, but the campaign has been in the pipeline for over a year.

Jolie and Guerlain first struck up the partnership in December 2015 in Cambodia, when Jolie started directing the film First They Killed My Father, which is due to be released on Netflix.

The film is said to have its roots in Jolie’s childhood memory of her mother’s love of a Guerlain face powder.

Jolie has donated her entire salary from the Guerlain campaign to charity.
