This is the highest rating in the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials

Rieke Packaging Systems' factory in Hangzhou, China has achieved the highest 'A' grade rating in the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials.

The BRC audit, carried out by independent international audit company SGS, assessed Rieke for the moulding and assembly of dispensing systems (pumps and closures) for personal care, perfumes, cosmetics, household cleaners and food packages.

BRC Global Standards is a leading safety and quality certification programme, used by over 21,000 suppliers in 90 countries. The standards guarantee the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria in order to ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer. The stringent requirements of the programme mean that BRC Global Standards are now very often a fundamental requirement of leading retailers.

The audit was undertaken as part of Rieke's continuing commitment to ensure its products are manufactured worldwide to the same strict specifications in line with continuing customer demand for cost-effective, high quality packaging solutions.

"We are delighted at the achievement of our Hangzhou operation," comments Mark Box of Rieke Packaging Systems.

"In particular, it underlines the capabilities of our Chinese operations and gives confidence to our customers that Rieke excellence comes as standard at all our worldwide locations."
