12 year deal includes new feminine fragrance in 2012

Distributor and manufacturer Inter Parfums has announced it has signed a 12 year worldwide licensing agreement with Balmain for the creation, production and distribution of perfumes and ancillary products for the French couture brand.

The agreement, which comes in to effect on 1 January 2012 replaces a previous license that was terminated by mutual consent. Inter Parfums will take over the production and distribution of existing Balmain fragrances but a new feminine launch is scheduled for the end of 2012, which will inaugurate another phase in the development of the Balmain couture house, according to the brand.

“Balmain represents a unique brand in today’s world of fashion,” commented Philippe Benacin, chairman and ceo, Inter Parfums. “The creative choices and original and high prestige style developed through its different collections provide a strong basis for differentiation in preparing for our future launches under the brand.”
