Bio-revitalising effect of a novel facial serum

Published: 21-Jan-2016

ISDIN medical department has solicited Laboratoire Dermscan in order to evaluate anti-ageing efficacy of a new serum containing apple stem cell extract, urea, creatine and a pro-collagen lipopetide.

In vitro, this specific association of actives demonstrated its capacity to reactivate cell metabolism on human senescent cultured fibroblasts. The product also reduced significantly the mitochondrial ROS production.

An open and intra-individual study was conducted in 32 women with sensitive skin bearing wrinkles on crow's feet and lack of facial skin firmness. We evaluated the anti-ageing in vivo effect of this new serum applied on the face twice daily after 7 and 28 consecutive days. Dermscan performed clinical (dermatological scoring) and instrumental (Cutometer, Corneometer, DermaScan, PRIMOS Lite) evaluations on the subjects. A progressive and steady increase in skin elasticity, hydration and dermal density was measured, as well as a decreased in cutaneous roughness. The dermatological evaluation highlighted a relevant anti-wrinkle effect. The product was well tolerated and subjects judged that the serum improved their ageing skin signs.

The study conducted by Dermscan Laboratory allowed to confirm in vivo the anti-ageing properties of this novel serum as soon as one week of use.

The data gave rise to a publication in Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology: “Biorevitalizing effect of a novel facial serum containing apple stem cell extract, pro-collagen lipopeptide, creatine, and urea on skin ageing signs”.
