Chemical distributor constructs Innovation & Training Centre in Bangkok

The beauty and personal care market in Thailand is set to reach $5.5bn by 2016, according to Euromonitor International. Little wonder that companies throughout the supply chain are looking to strengthen their foothold in the country. The latest to do so is German chemical specialist Brenntag, which has established a new Innovation & Training Centre in Bangkok. Part of the company’s existing Warehouse and Logistics Centre, the new facility features two training rooms and six technical application laboratories, and is designed to support Brenntag’s Specialties business, which caters to several industries including personal care.

Both female and male Thai consumers are becoming increasingly discerning especially with regards to high tech skin care, and Brenntag says its Innovation & Training Centre will enable the new product launch process to be sped up by giving its customers access to an application lab and technical staff in close proximity to their markets. It also says the facility will offer more value added services for its suppliers, which will have the opportunity to take part in customer seminars targeting individual customer needs.
