The cosmetic pigments market, which comprises special effect pigments, organic pigments, natural colourants and pigment dispersions for nail, lip, eye, face and hair products, is on the growth path.

A report by MarketsandMarkets revealed that the global cosmetic pigments market is expected to register between $1bn and $1.024bn by 2019, in terms of value, growing at a CAGR of 7% between 2014 to 2019.

The largest markets for colour pigments currently are the UK and US, which the report puts down primarily to high disposable incomes in developed regions.

The report cites that one of the largest manufacturers of performance pigments is Sun Chemical Corporation, which is located in the US.

Outside of these countries, Asia, namely China and India, are also expected to experience high levels of growth in this sector over the next five years.

Asia-Pacific is projected to see a very high growth rate as well, mainly due to rising consumer incomes.
