CEW 2014 Achiever Awards winners announced

The CEW 2014 Achiever Awards winners have been announced ahead of the ceremony in London on 20 November 2014

The CEW 2014 Achiever Awards winners have been announced. The four women will be honoured at the ceremony in London on 20 November 2014.

The winners are: Debbie Ansell, Celine Gilg, Lisa Smosarski and Charlotte Tilbury.

Debbie Ansell (UK Head of Beauty, World Duty Free Group) has led the Beauty team at WDFG since June 2006. She started her career in beauty at Superdrug and has worked with a variety of major beauty brands in retail and has headed up own-brand development. At WDFG she is responsible for beauty in 74 stores in 21 UK airports. Ansell has continued to work on brand partnerships to develop beauty stores acknowledged to be among the best in the world. The World Duty Free store in Heathrow T3 won Global Travel Retail Dream Store in 2013, and Jo Malone in Heathrow T5 was recognised for the biggest sales turnover in the world, across both domestic and travel retail. Ansell’s understanding of brands’ strategies has led to many firsts, including Limited Editions and Exclusive collections. A long-standing member of CEW, Debbie currently serves on the Board.

Celine Gilg (General Manager UK and Ireland, Tom Ford Beauty) has been has been instrumental in building Tom Ford Beauty in the UK and Ireland since its first launch in 2008. She has worked for 17 years in key management positions in companies such as Estée Lauder and Guerlain. Passionate about beauty, consumers, brands and talent development, Gilg began her career in communications whilst living in New York. A CEW Board Member, she is half French and half Italian, but now resides in London with her husband and three children.

Lisa Smosarski (Editor, Stylist Magazine) is the launch editor of the award-winning women’s weekly, Stylist. It was launched in 2009, and was the first freemium magazine for women. Smosarski has witnessed Stylist win 41 industry awards as editor and 9 consecutive ABC rises, and she won PPA editor of the year in 2012. Prior to her work at Stylist, she was editor of More!, Bliss and Smash Hits, launch edited mykindaplace.com, and has been a contributor to many UK magazines.

Charlotte Tilbury (Founder and Creative Director, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty) has 20 years experience as a make-up artist working with many famous names. Tilbury is responsible for some of the most iconic Vogue cover looks and is the only makeup artist to have worked on the British, US and Paris September issue Vogue covers in the same year. Tilbury's make-up range was launched in September 2013 in Selfridges and proved to be cult hit among celebrities and industry insiders. It is launching in the US in September 2014.
