Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury has expanded her range of skin care and cosmetics with her first ever fragrance – Scent of a Dream.

The perfume was inspired by the link between the sense of smell and the body’s limbic system – said to be responsible for emotions and desires. Tilbury said: “I have been mixing my own Secret Scent for years and have been fascinated by the idea that one’s perfume can attract others and also change the energy frequency of the people and environment around you.”

The scent was created in partnership with Francois Robert, President of the Technical Commission of the French Society of Perfumers. He said of the fragrance: “This scent smells amazingly unique and people fall in love with it!”

Top notes include lemon, peach and black pepper, while the heart contains tuberose, jasmine, frankincense, violet and patchouli. The base includes fire tree, hedione and ambroxan.

“I believe that with Scent of a Dream you can create your own destiny through its psycho-active, fleurotic frequency. It has the power to attract your magical future and ignite positive memories of your past.”

Scent of a Dream is also said to include “Psycho-active pheromones”, activated by body heat and lasting up to nine hours. Tilbury says that these ingredients “stimulate desire”.

The fragrance will be promoted in a campaign starring Kate Moss. The adverts are expected to debut in August.

Scent of a Dream will launch in the Charlotte Tilbury Covent Garden store and brand website as well as in Selfridges and Brown Thomas on 15 August. It will then be stocked in Fenwicks on 1 September, followed by launches in Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, Harrods, John Lewis and Jarrold on 5 September.
