Clarins targets pollution and puffy lids

Clarins has announced the launch of two new skin care products with very different benefits.

The first, UV Plus Anti-Pollution Day Screen (£32) provides SPF50 protection following on from the success of the brand’s UV 40 Day Screen. It is also said to provide protection from pollution, making it ideal for urbanites. The formula contains organic alpine sanicle extract, taken from the plant that grows in the Alps. The extract is said to help protect skin by reinforcing its natural defences against the effects of pollution and UV by encouraging the expression of specific proteins called SPRRs, which play a key role in the skin’s primary defense system.

The second product to launch is Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, designed to de-puff the eye area specifically of women over the age of 50. The formula contains organic extract of harungana, a Clarins exclusive ingredient. The brand claims this ingredient is more effective than retinol. The exract is combined with tetrapeptide to replenish the skin and lift lids.
