Dermscan is focusing its attentions on a trendy topic: atmospheric pollution and its effects on the skin

The 1st edition of COMET Congress was held in Cergy-Pontoise last June, and attracted SMEs and major groups who came to attend the evaluation of cosmetic ingredients and finished products.

Dermscan is focusing its attentions on a trendy topic: atmospheric pollution and its effects on the skin (dullness of complexion, inflammation, damage to the skin’s barrier, etc.). As the Scientific Communications manager, Anne SIRVENT explains, Dermscan has developed methods performed on the surface on the skin, while only in vitro studies have been conducted to demonstrate the impact of polluants so far.

As a reminder, the anti-pollution in vivo trials presented during the COMET Congress were:

  • Evaluation of the product effect on tissue oxygenation
  • Evaluation of the protective effect of products against microparticules fixation on skin and hair.
