Cosmopolitan launches first women's fragrance


Women's magazine joins fragrance market

Cosmopolitan has launched a new fragrance, in a move that sees the first fragrance and women's magazine tie-in.

Exclusively available in 350 Boots stores across the UK and online at, Cosmopolitan The Fragrance will launch on 7 September 2015 and will gradually be rolled out to other regions including Germany and Australia. The range includes 30ml (20) 50ml (28) and 100ml (37) bottles as well as three different gift sets.

The brand has also launched a competition to find three fans to become the faces of the fragrance campaign. Greg Witham, Group Publishing Director at Hearst, said: "This launch is a first for a women's magazine and is a natural step as we expand the power of the Cosmopolitan brand. We're seeing strong growth to Cosmopolitan's digital audience, and we know that women want to engage with Cosmo in a variety of ways. Our readers are fanatical about fragrance and spent 71m on perfume in the UK alone last year. This allows them a way to experience the brand in a new and relevant way."

The fragrance will be distributed by Jigsaw ESL and is the first of several licensing deals the brand has planned for 2015.
