The beauty brand owner and majority shareholder of Kylie Cosmetics is now eyeing up a potential collaboration with Kylie Jenner's sister

Coty is building a closer relationship with the Kardashian family.

The cosmetics brand owner is in talks with Kim Kardashian West for a "possible collaboration with respect to certain beauty products," according to a company filing by Coty.

In June 2017, Kardashian West launched her KKW Beauty brand with a contour product, but has since expanded into a full make-up line and perfume brand KKW Fragrance.

The potential deal comes six months after Coty announced a US$600m deal with Kardashian West's sister Kylie Jenner and her beauty brands Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin.

But the celebrity brand has come under scrutiny in recent days after filings analysed by Forbes are claimed to show that the Jenner family inflated the size of her brand's value by $235m.

Coty announced plans to sell its Professional Beauty Division to investment firm KKR in May, allowing the company to focus on its prestige and mass brands, including Kylie Cosmetics.

Peter Harf, Coty's Chairman turned newly appointed CEO, said that he was "good friends" with the Kardashian-Jenner family's business manager and matriarch Kris Jenner.

On a conference call with analysts shortly after being named CEO, Harf continued: “I think I’m very proud that the Jenner family is working with us and have access to them and to all other people who are big key opinion leaders on social media.”
