The 70-second video shows beauty and hairstyles over the past century

Cut Video has created a 70-second snapshot video that shows just how rapidly beauty styles have evolved over the past 100 years.

Testament to the influence of social media, the time-lapse video has already amassed 10,263,434 views on YouTube since it was posted on 20 November.

The video shows a woman having her hair and make-up styled to reflect every decade from 1910 to 2010. Starting with the elegant, conservative curls popularised in 1910, it meanders through the bobs of the Roaring Twenties and the beehives of the 1960s. Towards the end of the video, viewers revisit styles of more recent decades including the crimped ponytails and glossy lips of the 1980s and the striaghtened, layered hair of 2000. It ends with today's popular 'natural beauty' look with efforless curls and neutral make-up.

Cut Video, dubbed as 'the internet's happy place', is a seattle-based company that posts humorous videos on YouTube.
