What does the new Act mean for UK retailers?
The Psychoactive Substances Act came into force on 26 May, creating a blanket ban on the production, distribution, sale and supply of psychoactive substances in the UK. This new law has been coming for a long time now in order to address the problem of legal highs, and creates a range of new offences. A variety of legitimate businesses is affected and will have to be on the alert; staff training for this new law is essential.
