EU teeth whitener reform deal struck 13-Oct-2011

EU member states have backed amending the EU Cosmetics Directive so dentists must control the use of teeth whiteners with more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide, including carbamide peroxide and zinc peroxide.

Henceforth these products will not be sold direct to consumers but through dentists, who will apply whiteners first and then provide follow-up supplies and advice on application.
