EU's joint research centre received Lush prize

Award recognises EU\'s liver toxicity text


A new technique to test cosmetics for potential liver toxicity developed by the European Union’s (EU) Joint Research Centre (JRC) has won the first Lush Science Prize.

Awarded by the UK based cosmetics company and Ethical Consumer magazine, a JRC note said the system was “based on…knowledge of toxicological processes [used] to identify key biological events… in…tailored ‘in vitro’ assays.”
