The company has received backing from Welsh Government Support

UK beauty etailer escentual.com is on the growth path, with turnover predicted to increase from £18m to £40m in the next three years.

Recognising the Cardiff-based company’s potential, Welsh Government Support has backed the company since its early days and, recently assisted escentual.com in finding a new distribution facility triple the size of its previous site.

The new premises, located in Ocean Park, spans 36,000sqft and will create an additional 100 jobs. It will also enable escentual.com to increase its number of product lines from 5,000 to 15,000 items.

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said: “The growth of escentual.com and the significant number of jobs the company is creating illustrates the important role that entrepreneurs play in the economy. With 15 years of trading on-line, escentual.com is one of the UK’s longest running beauty etailers and I am pleased its growth plans will be taking place in Wales with Welsh Government support.”

Escentual.com was founded in 2000 by Rakesh Aggarwal, when the Welsh Government began assisting the company. In addition to expanding its UK business, the Welsh Government international trade team is in discussions with escentual.com to develop opportunities within Europe; it has set a goal of exceeding a £50m turnover within five years.

The London Stock Exchange recently included escentual.com in its list of 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
