Ex-ConAgra Foods executive joins Estée Lauder

Estée Lauder has appointed Andrew Ross to the role of Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, replacing Peter Jueptner.

Ross will report to President and CEO Fabrizio Freda, CFO and Executive Vice President of Global Finance and Strategy, Tracey T. Travis. He will also join Estée Lauder’s Executive Leadership Team.

Travis commented on the appointment: “Andrew brings a wealth of global strategic experience across the consumer goods, retail and consulting sectors. Andrew’s significant track record of shaping global growth, coupled with his proven ability to translate opportunities and challenges from ideas into actionable global strategies, positions him well to take on this very important role for our company.”

Previously employed as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at ConAgra Foods, Ross has extensive experience of creating corporate strategy and overseeing portfolio management including mergers and acquisitions.

Ross has also worked at McKinsey, leading the company’s global retail and consumer goods team for just under ten years.

Ross will now be tasked with developing and implementing Estée Lauder’s strategy including mergers, acquisitions and licensing. He will also be responsible for creating “alignment” opportunities across Estée Lauder brands.

Freda commented: “Andrew’s widely-recognized industry leadership along with his depth of expertise in retail strategy, merchandising, format renewal and marketing will help us to continue to drive long-term profitable growth and remain a global leader in prestige beauty.”

Ross’ sucessor, Peter Jueptner, has been promoted to the role of President for EMEA at Estée Lauder, reporting to Cedric Prouvé, Group President, International. He oversaw six acquisitions, including Smashbox and helped the company identify opportunities for long-term growth.
