The new facility will help the colour cosmetics manufacturer double its production of colour pencils in Germany

German colour cosmetics manufacturer Faber-Castell is set to open a new plant in Brazil next month. The new facility will enable the company to double its production of colour pencils in the country, for shipment worldwide.

Demand for cosmetic pencils in Europe has been boosted by beauty brands targeting the teen market, according to Faber-Castell, while growth in Brazil has been strong. Demand in the US, however, was lower than expected in 2012.

Faber-Castell also intends to showcase new products at the Makeup In Paris show this month. Innovations are to include include a gummy bear (jelly baby) flavoured lip product called Tint’N’Yummie Balm. The product is a dual-ended lip stain with a integrated balm, it has soft tip for precise contouring and outlining, according to the company.

Faber-Castell is also looking to present its Simply Red moisturising lipstick, which has a matte finish and is claimed to last up to five hours without bleeding or feathering. It also comes in the form of a wooden jumbo lip pencil with an 8mm lead that acts as lipstick and lip liner in one.
