Will King has set up a new advisory business

The former Chief Executive of shaving brand The King of Shaves, Will King, has launched a new venture that will see him trim other companies into shape.

King’s new business, Entrepreneur in Residence Company (theEiR.co), gives companies advice about how to perform more effectively. King will help businesses from SMEs to FTSE-listed companies better their own strategy and business efficiency; one of King’s first clients is FutureGov, which designs and implements digital technology solutions into local government to make public services more effective and efficient.

King said: “I’ve learnt a huge amount these past 22 years and discovered the great number of people who really want insight in what it takes to be an entrepreneur, behave entrepreneurially and serve up some of that secret ‘E-Sauce’ into their business.” He added: “To my knowledge, no company exists that can inject what I’ve called ‘E-Suite’ expertise into a company at C-Suite (CEO) level that may never have been exposed to entrepreneurial traits.”

Other high profile entrepreneurs are slated to join King as part of his team. King and the other entrepreneurs will not sit on the board of any companies they advise, remaining impartial and unbiased, able to provide advice across all types of business.

“A lot of large companies say it would be great to adopt an entrepreneurial stance, but they just talk and nothing is actually done. We will roll with the punches and provide a counterweight to the founder/owner and management of the company we work with. We are about deploying the right talent in the right sector at the right time and place to get the right result."

Last year, after 21 years at the helm of the British brand King of Shaves, King stepped down. Upon this decision, King appointed Andy Hill as the new CEO.
