French beauty hits the road

Beauty trucks are heading around France with locations including the Opera and the Marais

France is seeing a surfeit of beauty trucks this autumn. To celebrate its 30th birthday, from 25 September to 4 October Marionnaud is sending its Beauty Truck around Paris, with locations including the Opera and the Marais. Customers can choose a free makeover from one of eight beauty looks: nude, doe-eyed, urban, baby doll, disco glam, Californian, glam rock and ‘smoking’. The truck contains a nail bar, makeup bar and photocall area where customers can have their picture taken.

Meanwhile, from 15-23 September, Sephora’s beauty truck, which traversed the south during August, turned its attention to college campuses in Angers, Poitiers and Toulouse, with three beauticians offering courses on how to wear the latest makeup trends using products from Sephora. While Marionnaud is celebrating its anniversary, Sephora’s aim appears to be to attract a younger clientele, as the Beauty Truck demographic is considerably younger than the average perfumery visitor.
