The online deals website is splitting its campaign around Black Friday
Online deals website Groupon has aired its first TV ad in the US in the run up to the holiday period.
The campaign builds on the company’s ‘Own the Experience’ campaign it launched in the summer. For the holidays, Groupon is instead encouraging consumers to ‘Gift the Experience’.
The first phase was released in the run up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday and focuses on gifts.
The second phase of the campaign kicks off on Cyber Monday and will run until Christmas. The campaign focuses on giving gift experiences including beauty and spa deals including massages and manicures.

The 15 and 30-second ads have been running on channels including ABC, Fox, NBC, Bravo, Comedy Central, E!, Food Network, HGTV, Lifetime, TLC and USA.
