proDERM launches the proDERM Academy - 1-2 July 2014
With a 2-Day Hair Biology Workshop entitled 'Fundamentals, Current Concepts and Future Trends' the Germany based CRO proDERM launches its 'proDERM Academy'. Under the guidance of Course Director Dr. Gill Westgate, President of the European Hair Research Society, a faculty of international recognised experts has been gathered to lecture about the fundamentals and current scientific concepts of hair and scalp biology with relevance to the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. The scientific theory provided in the lectures will be complemented by intensive practical demonstrations of clinical and biophysical hair research techniques in the proDERM Hair Laboratory. The workshop is limited to a maximum number of 35 attendees and thus supports optimal networking options.
The workshop will cover the following highlights:
- Hair biology basics including hair formation, pigmentation and the hair cycle
- Frontiers in hair biology: stem cells, epigenetics, ageing and greying
- Clinical and experimental methods and latest treatments
- Biophysical properties of hair and implications for consumer habits
- Practical demonstrations in the Hair Laboratory
