Key market expansion for speciality chemistry company

HallStar has announced the acquisition of Florida-based exotic butter and oil supplier BioChemica. Details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

The purchase marks HallStar’s first move into the natural and organics personal care market whose product portfolio currently focuses on speciality chemicals, notably photostabilisers. Under the terms of the agreement BioChemica will remain based in Florida with its current employees. The BioChemica brand will become a HallStar business unit.

“Based on marketplace trends and our current position as a provider of innovative personal care ingredients, expanding into the naturals space is a logical move that will help us better serve our customers while also delivering profitability,” commented John Paro, HallStar chairman, president and ceo. “HallStar and BioChemica enjoy quite literally, great chemistry. Together we will make a market impact well beyond what either of us could accomplish individually.”
