Collaborates with trends forecaster Antoinette van den Berg on fourth multimedia project

Colour effect pigment specialist Impact Colors has created a fourth annual presentation predicting future trends in colour cosmetics. Color Trends 2013 is a multimedia, flash drive presentation, developed jointly with Future-Touch’s Antoinette van den Berg, an expert in colour and fashion trends forecasting.

“We take trends very seriously,” said Impact Colors’ co-founder Doug Thornley. “Our business is all about the latest and most original application of colour in personal care cosmetics and skin and hair care. The best way for our customers and the industry to imagine the possibilities of our glamorous pigments and eye-catching special effects colours in to see our lines used in adventurous ways in products for lips, eyes, skin and nails.”

The theme of this year’s presentation, says Impact Colors, is contradiction, both in terms of trend influencers and the way colour will be used to enhance individuality. “Five years ago, Antoinette was predicting that black would become a new standard for nails,” noted Thornley. “It was hard to believe then, but here we are. Now we are anticipating seeing red shadow and liner for the eyes and a move away from black to very dark blue, as that older standard emerges again.”

Color Trends 2013 delivers a picture of the future colour landscape through photography, voice and video, and suggests how a portfolio of 25 of Impact Colors’ colours and effects can be applied to create on-trend cosmetics.
