Stand 1H30, 1–3 April, Hamburg, Germany

Croda will once again be attending the in-cosmetics trade show in Hamburg, Germany from 1st to 3rd April, and are delighted to present their latest product launches and initiatives on Stand 1H30.

Croda’s footprint in the polymers arena has expanded through the acquisition of the specialty products business of Arizona Chemical in May last year and following extensive development work, Croda is delighted to launch its OleoCraft™ Polymers, a range of impressive oil structuring polyamides that can create films on the skin, lip and eyelash, providing water and wear resistance in colour cosmetic and sun care applications. The OleoCraft polymer range is a group of low colour, low odour high performance thermoplastic solids, proven to form clear, thermo-reversible gels. The products cover a range of high to low polarity oils and can be used to create structures from eye-catching clear sticks and balms to sensorially-appealing sprayable gels and emulsions.

With demanding consumers expecting enhanced sensorial experiences from their skin and sun care regimes as standard, global formulators are under increasing pressure to create high performing products that don’t impact skin feel.

Croda will present their innovative coating technology which has recently been proven to provide not only a Sensational Protection across the Spectrum, but also a sensational skin feel, offering a simple solution for ‘light feeling’ products without relying on silicone-heavy formulations. Combined with a novel titanium dioxide particle specifically designed to carefully balance UVA and UVB attenuation, Croda showcase their sole actives which uniquely allow the creation of high SPF, broad spectrum UV protection products. To support this exciting launch, Croda’s team will be giving you an exclusive peek within the Innovation Zone, on Tuesday 1st April 2014 from 15:00 - 15:30.

Croda is also excited to unveil Volarest™ FL, a truly unique polymer designed to enhance the consumer’s experience of your brand, providing benefits for both the consumer and formulator.
Volarest FL delivers controlled, targeted delivery from sprayable emulsions, novel textures that excite the user and the weightless suspension of emollients and beads in low viscosity fluids. Create novel, elegant and visually-appealing cosmetics with Volarest FL.

Additionally, Croda will be sharing Sensification™ - the science behind sensory innovation™, an easy-to-use system that allows formulators and marketers to navigate the complex landscape of sensory descriptors in a clear and defined way. By understanding the drivers behind emulsion aesthetics, you can engineer a complete sensory experience that supports your overall product positioning. This exciting new toolkit discusses emerging consumer sensory trends and takes a closer look at the role of emulsifiers in sensory performance within skin care. Additionally the Croda team will be demonstrating this toolkit within the Innovation Zone, on Tuesday 1st April 2014 from 15:30 - 16:00.

Furthermore, Sensemol™ LST is the first in a new line of sensory driven emollients to be launched from Croda that has an exceptionally light feel and a high degree of skin spreading. The ether chemistry of this super fluid gives it broad pH tolerance and compatibility with actives for overall formulation versatility.

Croda will also be showcasing a new product launch and exciting new data for the hair care market.

Hair from different ethnicities has distinct conditioning needs, based on the differences observed in morphological characteristics and is especially true for hair that has been damaged.
Crodazoquat™ MCC is a hybrid conditioning technology that has been developed to provide multicultural conditioning, improving the appearance, feel and manageability of hair regardless of ethnic origin. Having broad global regulatory acceptance, it is the perfect choice for your next conditioner, whether your target market is Asia, Europe, Latin America, the US or the world.

Excellent new data shows that Keramimic™ 2.0 can greatly improve the sensory properties of the hair whilst wet. Keramimic™ 2.0 is an innovative keratin quat that takes biomimetics to the next generation. Developed using the most recent advances in proteomics, the amino acid sequences of the peptides found in Keramimic 2.0 match those present in the keratin proteins found in cuticular and cortical regions of human hair. Delivering outstanding conditioning and feel, this highly substantive hair care active provides targeted repair to the most damaged areas of the hair surface.

Croda’s Innovation Seminar on “Volarest FL, Delivering Consumer-driven Effects through Advanced Polymer Innovation” - Tuesday 1st April 2014 from 12:50 - 13:20 in Theatre 1

Sunscreen formulations have, for many years, been either thin oils or viscous creams and lotions. When sun sprays came onto the market, they offered consumers convenience. However, the need to provide higher SPF protection from elegant sunscreens remains a challenge for the formulator. Liam Smith, Business Development Director for Acrylic Polymers, will present Volarest FL, which uses pseudoplastic “fly-stay” technology, enabling the creation of high-performing viscous sunscreens which can be sprayed as a mist from even the most basic of pump sprays. Sunscreens created with Volarest FL also spread easily over the skin with no tack and an impressive, light sensory.
