Hailed as a beauty enhancer within the supplement arena, it looks as though silica could be the next wonder ingredient making waves within the cosmetics industry. A natural anti-inflammatory and deemed ‘essential’ for maintaining health and wellbeing, silica (also known as silicon dioxide) has been championed for its skin care benefits, with silicon, its key element, needed by the body to maintain healthy joints, bones, hair and skin.
