Issey Miyake presents City Blossom fragrance

Inspired by L’Eau d’Issey, with an urban twist, City Blossom is the latest from Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake Parfums has a new limited edition spring fragrance, City Blossom, developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas, with packaging designed by French street artist Mademoiselle Maurice. The new fragrance, unveiled this week at Boutique Issey Miyake in London is designed to reflect urban life in bloom, and is a flanker to L’Eau d’Issey, developed in 1993.

The scent is based on pink peppercorn, citrus notes and calone; with middle notes of honey-like osmanthus flowers, freesia and magnolia; and bottom notes of Virginia white cedar, ambrox and white musk. Morales derived inspiration from L’Eau d'Issey, and says "I have the greatest respect for the values [L’Eau d'Issey] has conveyed since its creation.”

Mademoiselle Maurice's street art and origami installations are usually colourful, bright designs that are at the cross-section of nature and "wide spaces of abstractions in the city" according to the artist. Her experience living in Japan is reflected in the cherry blossom influence and delicately coloured petals in the fragrance's bottle and packaging.

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey City Blossom is available in 50 and 90 ml Eau de Toilette.
