Key Regulatory Role - London

The position involves helping to gather and collate information on the regulation of cosmetic and personal care product

The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) is the voice of the cosmetics and personal care industry in the UK, promoting good working practice and representing the interest of its members through active dialogue with government, European and international regulators, interested stakeholders and media.  Membership comprises manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, retailers and service providers, from SMEs to multi-nationals.

CTPA is currently recruiting for a key role within its regulatory and international department to support and progress the Association’s regulatory services to member companies.

The successful candidate must possess a good honours degree in a scientific field and have a strong interest in regulatory affairs. The ability to review and critique legal text is essential. Previous experience of the cosmetics industry and knowledge of the regulatory framework is desirable but not essential; an interest or background in chemical legislation would be an advantage. Excellent administrative and communication skills are required, as is a level of computer literacy.

The position involves helping to gather and collate information on the regulation of cosmetic and personal care products from their production to their environmental impact, responding to a wide range of regulatory and technical enquiries from members and representing the industry to regulatory authorities. Some travel may be required. The ability to act independently and on own initiative to carry projects through to a successful conclusion will be instrumental in a successful career progression with this leading trade association.

The CTPA is offering an attractive salary according to experience, with private healthcare and an employer’s work-based pension scheme. The offices are centrally located on Piccadilly, London, W1.
