Will King offers Olympic hopeful funding

Founder of King of Shaves, Will King, has stepped in to provide the funding an Olympic running hopeful needs in order to qualify to take part in the Olympic Games, held in London this summer.

James Ellington, who is the third fastest 200m runner in the UK, had previously offered himself for auction in an desperate attempt to raise £30,000, after he failed to win corporate sponsorship because of injury.

However King’s agreement to put up the £30,000 funding will cover Ellington’s wages and expenses during the games, allowing him a sporting chance of qualifying.

King says that the sponsorship would mean Ellington could pay for the best physiotherapist and allow him to give up his part time job as an athletics coach, therefore giving him more time to train. He adds: “We are delighted to give him a fighting chance in the Olympics.”
