French beauty giant L’Oréal has installed an interactive vending machine, named the Intelligent Color Experience, at the Bryant Park subway station in New York.

The machine is able to ‘read’ what the user is wearing, and makes make-up suggestions which the user can then buy on the spot. As part of a pilot project that began on 4 November, the machine will be in place until 30 December, from 7am-9pm on weekdays and 10am-8pm on weekends.
