Beaumoji keyboard offers 130 new style and beauty emojis

L’Oréal USA has launched a keyboard of beauty and styling themed emojis. The keyboard contains 130 emojis designed to appeal to beauty enthusiasts.

The keyboard is divided into sections including “It Girl”, featuring illustrations of trends such as ombré lips and pastel hair, “Pampered Life”, showing characters enjoying beauty treatments and a third section including symbols of iconic L’Oréal products. Featured products include Urban Decay’s Naked Palette and the Maybelline New York Great Lash mascara. The fourth section, called “beYOUtiful”, encourages users to embrace their personal style and the final section, called “Love”, offers a chance to express love for beauty products.

The keyboard is available for download on iOS and Android. L’Oréal has promised seasonal updates to the keyboard as trends evolve. The company says it created the Beaumojis in response to the number of beauty-orientated conversations online. L’Oréal believes that social media has changed the way consumers learn about beauty and has noticed the popularity of the nail polish and lipstick icons.

Rachel Weiss, Vice President of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at L’Oréal USA, explained: “We know the online conversation around beauty is huge and continuing to spoke along with the shorthand language of emojis. We saw an opportunity to provide expressions and tools for our beauty community that reflect the daily conversations we see happening. With Beaumoji, our goal is to provide emojis that beauty enthusiasts crave and speak to their unique passions, lifestyles and personalities.”

Consumers are invited to create their own Beaumojis by submitting ideas on social media using the #BeaumojiContest hashtag. A panel of beauty influencers will select three winners who will be invited to the Beautycon Festival in New York and treated to a VIP stay in New York City.

The Beaumoji keyboard was created in partnership with Snaps.
