L Brands earnings surge

L Brands (formerly Limited Brands) has reported that its first quarter profits surged 10% to US$0.53 per share compared to the same quarter 2013. In total, first quarter operating income came in at $336.1m compared to $311.2m last year. Sales for Bath & Body Works rose 2% in 2014 to $530.2m in its stores in the US and Canada and $51.4m in Bath & Body Works Direct. Internationally, revenue from the firm’s Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works stores reached $71m.
