Company offers an app-like experience on the mobile version of its website
Lancôme has updates its website to offer an app-like experience when accessing it via a smartphone.
Working with Mobify, the company is aiming to offer consumers real-time web push notifications and payment via Apple Pay. The new site is also said to be exceptionally fast.
Malik Abu-Ghazaleh, Vice President of Digital Marketing and Ecommerce at Lancôme, said that the new website would offer: “personal communications, individualised shopping experiences and tailored, contextual services based on customer journeys from discovery to checkout”.
He added that consumers are increasingly expecting websites to have similar quality and responsiveness as apps such as Facebook or Snapchat.
The site will offer tailored content based on the consumer’s location and will be one of the first retailers to accept the new mobile web payments from Apple Pay.
Abu-Ghazaleh added: "With our new Progressive Mobile website we're able to reduce page loads with a fast site that's ready to deliver all the latest mobile customer engagement features to meet the needs of our shoppers in the moment."
