16-year-old Olympic gymnast to front P&G campaign

P&G has announced its latest ambassador for Crest as Olympic gymnast Laurie Herandez.

The 16-year-old was one of the youngest members of the US Olympics team in Rio and returns home with both a gold and silver medal.

The athlete will also serve as an ambassador for Orgullosa, P&G’s community for Latinas.

Herandez said: “My motto in life is to embrace every moment. This is such an exciting time for me and I’m so proud, Orgullosa, to be a Crest athlete. When you’re given the opportunity of a lifetime to perform on the world’s biggest stage, smiling with confidence for your family and supporters is part of every routine. As I prep for the competition, I always count on Crest products to keep my smile radiant and flawless off the mat.”

The gymnast will appear on an upcoming campaign on the Orgullosa online platform. The community aims to celebrate Latinas’ achievements and help empower their aspirations. Hernandez and her families will share personal anecdotes on the site about their traditions and family.

Marc Pritchard, Chief Brand Director at P&G, said: “Olympian Laurie Hernandez has inspired people around the world through her talent, personality and amazing smile. We welcome Laurie to the P&G family and we’re so proud to support her as a role model for the strength and power of Latinas and their families.”
