DermDash has launched the first online scheduling tool for the cosmetic surgery industry. Consumers can download the app to browse treatments and prices as well as book appointments.

Users are given a list of cosmetic doctors to browse, with price quotes and reviews alongside. Once they have selected a doctor they will be able to book a free consultation.

Prices for cosmetic surgery are usually only provided when a consumer visits the surgeon for a consultation.

Treatments available through the app include: fillers, laser treatments, Botox, spider vein treatments, chemical peels and body contouring.

Only selected qualified plastic and oculoplastic surgeons, dermatologists and medical spas have been chosen for listings on the app. Reviews on the app are provided by Yelp, an independent service which provides reviews and ratings from consumers.

Procedures can also be booked and paid for using the app’s secure checkout page. The service is currently only available in Los Angeles.

Ben Behnam, board-certified dermatologist and app developer, explained: “DermDash is a revolutionary cosmetic platform that we think will change how consumers shop for their cosmetic doctors.”

DermDash can be downloaded free of charge on the App Store and on the company’s website. Users were being offered $20 towards any purchase when downloading the app. On the App Store, DermDash says that it will save consumers time "driving from doctor to doctor", allowing them to book cosmetic procedures "form the comfort of [their] own home".

Behnam added: “Most doctors’ offices will not give pricing over the phone, so the burden is put on consumers to set appointments and comparison shop. Instead of wasting your precious time, DermDash gives you prices, reviews and the convenience of making a doctor’s appointment online.”

Benham has also worked on the development of Dermcheck, an app designed to help consumers diagnose common skin conditions themselves, such as acne, cold sores and eczema.
