The brand has launched a bath bomb to raise funds for an RSPB project

Lush has released a new bath bomb to raise funds for one of England’s rarest birds of prey, the hen harrier.

The launch of Skydancer – Far From The Madding Guns bath bomb (££3.95) comes a year after Lush first became involved with campaigning for hen harriers. Money raised from sales of the product will go towards the RSPB’s Hen Harrier Life+ project, which is working to satellite tag as many chicks as possible in order to monitor the birds after they leave the nest.

The hen harrier has been under threat in recent years due, it is thought, to the illegal shooting of the birds; in 2013 no hen harrier nests were recorded while in 2014 there were four successful pairs of birds. This year, there were six successful pairs recorded.

Jeff Knott, the RSPB’s Head of Nature Policy, said: “We are delighted that Lush has come up with this imaginative way of raising awareness about hen harriers and getting their customers involved in their conservation. Everyone who buys a bath bomb will be making a valuable contribution towards bringing this amazing bird of prey back from the brink of extinction in England.”
