Offers dramatic, eye catching discs, dust covers and inserts for jars, compacts and other accessories

To help cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies deliver the total package that generates consumer sales in the marketplace, Madeline Blondman & Co. presents a broad range of cosmetic and pharmaceutical packaging components. Dramatic and eye-catching, from top to bottom, and both outside and in, these components feature Discs, Dust Covers and Inserts for jars, compacts, and other accessories; all are manufactured, designed and engineered by Madeline Blondman & Co.

According to Randi Barron, President of Madeline Blondman, “Our precision, custom-built machinery provides us with substantial custom capabilities to manufacture perfectly consistent, concentrically trimmed components every time. Regardless of size, shape, or quantity, our products always conform to customers’ exact specifications, helping to create perfect packaging and drive exponential sales for cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies.”

Cosmetic and pharmaceutical components are manufactured from a broad range of high quality materials in various thicknesses, ranging from PVC and PETG, to our exclusive laminated materials.

Designed for jars and other accessories, vacuum-formed Discs and Inserts are created from a variety of American made virgin resins such as Bright White PVC, a homopolymer rigid film made from pure PVC resin in a .007, .010 or .015 gauge. Discs and Inserts are also available in Crystal Clear .0075 PVC, an industrial grade vinyl engineered for thermoforming applications requiring UV protection, which is perfect for Cosmetic Jars and Makeup Accessories. This PVC has excellent formability, denesting and die cutting properties and its features include excellent clarity, sparkle, strong chemical resistance and dimensional stability.

As an alternative, discs can also be produced in .015 and .010 gauge rigid Clear Frosted PVC materials. These exhibit a frosted translucent, non-transparent appearance with a matte/matte finish for a unique look. As with the other PVC’s, these thermoformed materials are moisture resistant with high puncture and tear strength while demonstrating optimal dimensional stability and flame resistance.

In addition, our most popular material today is PETG, a recyclable environmentally safe plastic extruded from Eastman Chemical’s Eastar Copolyester. The film combines the strength and heat resistance of polypropylene with the flatness and rigidity of less durable plastics. FDA and USDA approved for medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic packaging applications, PETG is exceptionally transparent, durable and will not blush, crease whiten or embrittle with ageing. Vacuum-formed Discs and Inserts are available in .0075 and .010 gauge thickness in white and clear. For die cutting, Discs and Inserts can be created in .005 gauge thickness in clear.

Also for die cutting, Inserts for Eye Shadow and Blusher Compacts Dust-covers can be produced in Clear Mylar-Polyester Film. This optically clear, odourless film features excellent handling characteristics, including chemical stability and a resistance to oils, solvents, and weak acids and alkalis. Standard thickness is .003 gauge, and die-cut dust-covers can be printed or hot-stamped on slightly thicker materials with customised brand messages if desired. Another ideal choice for compact dust-covers, biaxially-oriented .0044 Antistatic Polyester Film is used for its high chemical resistance and exhibits good slip properties that prevent dust from clinging or being attracted to the product.

Flat die-cut compact dust-covers can also be created with Glama Natural, the leading, naturally translucent paper with a perfect, cloudless fibre formation. Widely recognised for its extraordinary uniformity, superior translucency and matchless folding strength, Glama is Forest Stewardship Council-certified and created with fibres harvested from well-managed forests. It is offered in recycled options and three weights, and can be printed on as well.

Working closely with company engineers and material suppliers, Madeline Blondman has also formulated two exclusive Laminated Materials that provide excellent moisture and resistance barriers for cosmetic and pharmaceutical jars. Our exclusive and proprietary material laminates a layer of .001-gauge resistant polypropylene to either .007 gauge White PVC or .0075 gauge White PETG. For companies requiring the additional barrier protection of Polypropylene, and cannot use PVC, the PETG/PP laminate is a superior choice.

Should customers need an actual seal, One-piece Liners of Induction Seal Material provide clean, peel heat-seal to PE, PP, PET and PVC jars and containers. The TS-PPE/2 seal material is composed of a backing of PO foam/Polyester film, which is inseparably bonded to PE and PP.
