New Dropit app takes heavy shopping bags out of equation

The app delivers shopping bags to consumers at their home or hotel

A curse for shopping enthusiasts the world over, being overladen with shopping bags could soon be a thing of the past due to an innovative new app launch.

The app, Dropit, aims to relieve shoppers of their bags by linking them up to dedicated ‘Dropit stations’ around London in the UK, which will then organise the delivery of their bags back to their address of choice.

Before using the service, shoppers are required to set up a profile by filling in their home address or hotel information. They can then buy a single drop, day pass or three-day pass.

Once out shopping, consumers can view which stores offer the Dropit service via the app, then drop off their shopping at these points. Their bags will then be delivered to their home or hotel later the same day, or the next, depending on what is selected.

Karin Cabili, Dropit Founder, said: “Whether you shop at Armani, Gap, Burberry, Hunter or Uniqlo, Dropit revitalises the retail experience and allows the serious shopper to lighten their load and carry on shopping without their bags.”
