Nudred manufacturer cites patent infringements

US-based manufacturer Nu-You Technologies has filed lawsuits against a number of its competitors. The company produces the Nudred Hair Sculpting Tool – a device designed to help create twists and dreads in the hair.

Brigitte Gopou and Bruce Boyd introduced the Nudred in 2004. It is used alongside hair care products to create clumps of hair much more quickly than traditional methods. The device is manufactured in the US and subject to Patent No 7,198,050.

Recent years have seen a huge increase in the number of devices aimed at styling natural afro hair. Nu-You Technologies says a number of these are in breach of its patent.

On the Nudred website, the company says: “Since the creation of the Nudred Hair Sculpting Tool in 2004, there have been many who have tried to copy the patented technological advances in the tool’s design.”

On 22 October, Nu-You Technologies filed Patent Infringement lawsuits against:
Beauty Town International
Bee Sales Company
Eltoweissy et al
Chee-Ping
DSK Corporation
Dream World Inc
Jehan Corporation
