Results from research conducted on its gluten-free oat oil, called Oat Lipid e.

Oat Services, a research, development and marketing company specialising in advancing oat technology, has announced ‘ground-breaking’ results from research conducted on its gluten-free oat oil, called Oat Lipid e.

The new data analyses Oat Lipid e’s lipid profile, which is packed with a number of effective skin and hair care components that provide numerous benefits. The oil does not contain any proteins and is completely gluten-free. Oat Lipid e is rich in skin identical lipids. This includes a high level of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are key for improving the skin barrier and reducing TEWL.

The oil also has a significant amount of membrane-identical phospholipids: ceramides, phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine which, when combined, support the barrier function helping to keep the skin in a healthy condition, according to Oat Services.

The company focuses on developing market applications for the cereal crop oats (Avena sativa) from food through to cosmetic applications.

Its brand, Oat Cosmetics, markets and sells ingredients through a global distributor network. Other ingredients include Oat COM and Oat SILK.
