Open for business: Britain’s beauty retailers welcome back shoppers

England’s shoppers can return to their favourite beauty destinations from today, but experts warn customers need to play their part in keeping shops safe

After an anxious three-month wait and weeks of preparation, Britain’s beauty shops have finally reopened for business.

Boris Johnson, the UK’s Prime Minister (PM), confirmed that non-essential retailers, including beauty stores, hairdressers and spas, as well as other personal care destinations, would be allowed to welcome back customers from 12 April earlier this month, following a significant decline in Covid-19 cases.
